What is Cafe con Causa?
Café con Causa is San Antonio Coffee’s initiative to make a difference beyond just coffee. This program was created to support the elderly in our community, particularly those who don’t have family to lean on. Every coffee purchase through San Antonio Coffee contributes directly to Café con Causa, allowing us to assemble and deliver care packages filled with essentials, treats, and personal care items. But Café con Causa goes further than these deliveries; it also includes visiting elderly homes, where we spend time listening, sharing stories, and creating moments of companionship.
The purpose of Café con Causa is to use coffee as a way to give back and connect with others. By transforming each purchase into a meaningful action, we aim to build a sense of community, where everyone—customers and recipients alike—can feel the warmth and compassion that’s central to our mission.

Key Activities in Cafe con Causa

Care Basket Assemblies: Using a portion of San Antonio Coffee’s proceeds, we regularly assemble baskets containing food, hygiene items, and small treats, which we personally deliver to elderly individuals in need.

Visits to Elderly Homes: We visit local elderly homes, where we share more than just supplies; we also bring companionship, engaging in conversations, sharing stories, and listening to the experiences of those we meet. These visits provide us and our team with a profound understanding of the strength and resilience within these communities.
